Christmas Letter

I am posting a copy of the Christmas letter that I will finally be mailing out today! =) This is for anyone who is interested, that might not be receiving one. Also, there are more pictures in this version! ;)

Merry Christmas!

Well Family and Friends, I didn’t think that I would get my Christmas Letter out this year, but I’m sure gonna try! Things just seem to get so busy in the month of December, and I love it, but I need to be a bit more organized. We have had a wonderful and busy 2007!

Hannah just turned 7 and I can hardly believe it! She is turning into such a sweet young lady. She is such a willing helper and often thinks she knows best. She is in First grade and excelling fast. She does especially well in Reading and Math. She rarely answers questions wrong and does NOT like when she does! So, I told her that sometimes Mommy and even Daddy get things wrong, but that’s called “learning.” (For anyone who knows my sis – Rebecca, sound familiar?)

Abigail will be 6 in February. She is our little sweetie pie and cuddle bug. She lost her first tooth a couple of months ago and was thrilled to finally join Hannah in that department. She is also in First grade and doing quite well. She can keep up with Hannah no problem. The main difference I see in their abilities is in her writing letters and numbers. She doesn’t have the neatest penmanship, but I’m not sure that is only to do with her age. (Hannah is the perfectionist first born type.)

Isaac will be 4 in January and he keeps us smiling. He is the most love able little fellow and he says the cutest things. I love the mind of a 3 year old! He so wants to do school with us and whenever he’s there, he raises his hand with such earnest and gusto, yet when I call on him he just flashes a grin at me and says, “Uh, uh, uh.” He loves tools and whenever he finds one, you can find him carrying it around and looking for anything to “fix.”

Joanna is 2 ½ and a little spitfire! She sends us rolling with some of the things she does, including her wide variety of facial expressions! She has such personality and a temper to match, yet can melt your heart in an instant. She talks constantly, even when she is all by herself. She is also very independent and one of her favorite things to say is, “Me do it!” She’s a little daredevil and tries her best to keep up with her brother and sisters. Also, she is potty trained, and I am enjoying the reduction of diapers!

This past July Daniel and I were able to go to England for a week and celebrate a friend’s wedding! We got to visit with friends we hadn’t seen in years and see a bit of London, too! It was such a fun experience and it has been a long time since we have had a significant amount of time together, just the two of us. Daniel’s folks kept Hannah and our dog Izzy and my parents had the younger 3, with the help of my sis Emily! What a blessing to have such wonderful family!!

Daniel is still busy working at the family business. He continues to be the best husband you could ever ask for. He is amazingly romantic, thoughtful, and giving. A couple months ago he surprised me with a sweet card and a beautiful pair of earrings, “just because.” Yes, I know that I am spoiled!

I continue with my job of trying to be the best mom and wife I can be, though I fall short daily. Thanks to the grace of God, I continue on and get the best rewards you could ever ask for! If you would like to see more pictures of our crazy family and get updated on our life more than once a year, you can visit my blog at: www.mommamy.blogspot.com
I pray you all have blessings and peace this Christmas season! Take time to breathe and enjoy being with friends and family.

Love,
The Asher Clan – Daniel, Amy, Hannah, Abigail, Isaac, and Joanna

Christmas Quotes

Here are a few Christmas quotes for Christmas Eve.

Christmas is not a time nor a season, but a state of mind. To cherish peace and goodwill, to be plenteous in mercy, is to have the real spirit of Christmas.
Calvin Coolidge

Every time we love, every time we give, it's Christmas.
Dale Evans

God has given us two hands, one to receive with and the other to give with.
Billy Graham

May no gift be too small to give, nor too simple to receive, which is wrapped in thoughtfulness, and tied with love.
L.O. Baird

MAY YOU ALL HAVE A VERY MERRY CHRIST mas!

7, SEVEN, 7

Today, December 19th, is my precious firstborn's 7th birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANNAH!!

It's hard to believe that I have a 7 year old, but here she is. Hannah is definitely our little princess. She loves to dress up and be "fancy" whenever she can, yet she can tumble with the boys, no problem!

She is such a little ham and loves the camera! Whenever there are pictures being taken, she is right there in front of the camera posing. :)

She is a wonderful helper to Mommy, and really cares for her brother and sisters.

She loves spending time with all her family and knows how to have fun!

She is creative and works diligently at school.

She can be a perfectionist and a bit of a control freak, but we all have things to work on! :)

She is such a joy and my sweet silly girl.

So, thank you Lord for blessing me with an amazing daughter and please bless her today, on her birthday.

Enjoy your day, my "Princess!"

SNOW!!

We got some snow this weekend. The kids were so excited! So we bundled up and headed out to play. It was the powdery type of snow, not packing snow, so we couldn't really make a snowman. :( We did still have lots of fun running around in it!

Daniel took a picture of a miniature pine tree in our front yard after all the ice we got, then after the snow.

The tree with ice.

The tree with snow.

Before we all headed out, Daniel went outside to take some pictures of the snow before the kids ran all through it. While Daniel was outside, Isaac and Joanna were watching him through our front window. They looked so cute, Daniel took some pictures of them!

"The many faces of Joanna"

(Isaac had almost the same face in all the pictures!)

After we finally got everyone all bundled up, we headed outside.

Swinging

We have an old metal wagon that was full of water and froze, so I turned it upside down and decided to "surf." The kids enjoyed it!

Isaac was playing by the sandbox, so I decided to run over and "tackle" him.
