Wings

Isaac was in my bedroom this morning and saw a spider web above my window. (Yes, I know that reflects on my house keeping skills.) He says, "Mommy look! A spider web!" I say, "Yes, I know. Mommy needs to get the vacuum and get it." He replies, "No, Mommy. You need wings to get it! Like a birdie!" ~I'm Thinking~ "Then it's gonna be up there a loooong time." :)

Get Ready London!

We fly out to London in exactly 2 weeks! I am so excited, nervous, overwhelmed, and surprisingly calm. I think that it hasn't quite sunk in yet, all that I need to do before we leave. We actually leave to drive out to Missouri first to drop off some kids at G & G Wilt's a little earlier. So, I really only have about 12 days. AAGGHH!

For those of you who don't know, we are going to a friend's wedding in England and seeing some of the sights of London. We will be there for a week. It will be exciting to see quite a few people we haven't seen in years, some of them I have never met.

I am really excited! Daniel is too, but he has traveled so much in his life that my excitement beats his a little bit! :) I have been just over the border in Mexico, been to Canada, Thailand, and Nepal. I have never been to Europe, but have always wanted to go. YEAH!

We went to Thailand and Nepal on our honeymoon, so it's been 7 1/2 years since a long plane ride. I wasn't involved in all the planning and preparation of that trip, so this time it has been quite different. I'm just hoping that everything goes smoothly.

Please keep us in your prayers and the kids especially. We have never been gone from them for more than a night, so this will be an adjustment. Thankfully we are blessed with generous parents and siblings! I have complete faith in Grandparents and Aunt Emily. Thank you guys so much!!!

Fireworks!!

I had planned on posting pictures of our July 4th celebration, but due to rain, rain, and more rain it was not what we had originally planned. We ended up at Daniel's parents house for the whole evening, since the local gala was cancelled. :(
We did get to see lots of the neighbors fireworks displays. Isaac stayed inside for the whole deal, because he does not like the noise and he was a bit under the weather.
We did set off a few of our own, too. We all had a really fun time just hanging around and doing what we do best, talking and laughing.

Our family did get to see some fireworks the night before, so the kiddos didn't totally miss out. Daniel put some big headphones on Isaac so it wouldn't be so loud for him! It was a pretty hilarious sight, we got some odd looks.

That night when I checked on the kids before I climbed in to bed, I heard Hannah(6) say in her sleep, "Mom, fireworks! Look, Mom! Fireworks!" I think she had a good time! :)

So, I decided to use these pictures from a couple years ago. I hope you all had a joyous 4th of July!!
