Just like old times!

It was so fun to spend some time with my sisters, parents, and cousins!! I hope to post some pictures soon, after Daniel downloads them to his computer.

The kids had such a great time! They went swimming, fishing, supervised the construction project :), played with their cousins, and had such a blast! A special "Thank You" goes out to Michael and Ashley who spent time playing with their little cousins who are at least 10 years younger than them, but they were such sweeties to indulge the kids with their favorite activities!

I, of course had fun talking away and catching up with everyone. Our lives are in such different phases, each with their own excitements and monotony.

I miss everyone and now it's time to get back to routine. I will post pics soon!

I Love Garage Sales!

I am really excited about my latest find! I was at a garage sale and saw a huge box of books. My kids LOVE books, so I thought that I would start looking through it and see if I found any that I liked. I found about 10 right off the bat and wasn't feeling like going through this whole box. (I guessed there was almost 100 books in there.) So I thought, the sale is supposed to end in 30 minutes, maybe she'll be willing to make a deal on the whole box. I had $20 in my mind. I know they were worth more than that, but this was a garage sale and just because their worth more, doesn't mean that I have more.

Anyway, I asked if she would be willing to sell the whole box. She was interested and we bargained back and forth until I bought the box for $13. I was thrilled! She told me that she had to use a dolly to get the box out there, so we used the dolly to get the box to my car. It was a big box!!

When I got home I asked Daniel to come help me get the box inside. It ended up breaking and spilling the books in our trunk. So, we got a new box, and I said let's count the books as we move them. We counted and there was, get ready, 351 books!! I had no idea it was that many. A lot of the books are Dr. Seuss type and in really good condition, some are educational, and there are some nice posters, too. I was amazed!

Hey, at least the woman doesn't have to cart 351 books back into her house now!

I just have to sort through them all and decide what to keep, what to donate, and whatever else. So far, I've only found 2 that I don't like and about 5 that aren't in very good shape.

That's just 1 of many reasons why I Love Garage Sales!

My Man!

For Mother's Day my husband and my friend's (Jody) husband got together and booked us, Jody and me, a room at the Hyatt in Wichita. So, we had some time to go shopping, watch a movie, hang out, swim, and EAT without any little ones running around. It was so fun! We think it should become a regular event! It is so different to have a significant amount of girl time together without our kids around. It also brought our friendship to a whole other level. Our husbands are so amazing!!

Help

It won't let me insert links. Anyone have any advice ?

I know that I look like an idiot, but so be it.

Jody

I was reading my sister's blog, SplendiferousEmily and she was commenting about how nice it is to be with old friends who know you so well. She is a military wife, so she is in a relatively new place and has established some new friends, but it's just not quite the same as someone who has known you for years. I would completely agree with her, but for one exception, my friend Jody. She is awesome!!

I've only known her for less than 3 years and it feels like forever. haha (in a GOOD way) I so enjoy just being with her or talking with her about anything and everything. We do talk almost everyday, even if it's just to find out why one of us isn't following our normal schedule that day. :) I love that I can just be ME with her. She doesn't judge me, she just accepts me even with all my ugly parts. Believe me there are plenty of those! Not that we don't have our differences, we just know how to look past them and stick to what's important.

I just wanted to give a shout out to her and let everyone know how blessed I feel to have her in my life! So, I hope you all have a "Jody" in your life.
